When are we open?

We open to visitors from 28th March until 4th November 2018, Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. We’re also open on Bank Holiday Mondays and will be opening on the following Wednesday’s during November for our usual Tea Dances (1-4pm on 7th, 14th, 21st). We are also open from 10am until 4pm for our Christmas Tea Dances (1pm start) on 28th, 29th, 30th November.

When are we closed?

We are closed on any Mondays that aren’t bank holidays. We’re also closed on Tuesdays and on the dates shown on our events calendar, when we are closed for private functions.

We also close early (2pm) on the following Sundays; 20th May, 17th June, 15th July, 19th August, 16th September, 21st October.

Please allow two to three hours for your visit but feel free to stay all day. Unfortunately no dogs are allowed in the museum – with the exception of accessibility dogs.

Our Collection

Our collection is wide ranging, take a look around at the stunning mechanical organs dating back to the 1800’s, the powerful and towering Showman’s Steam Engines and a collection of vintage cars, tractors, motorbikes and more classic vehicles. You can also see some vintage fairground rides which will take you back to years gone by.

Food and drink

Here at the museum we have a well stocked tea bar, providing sandwiches, cakes and lavish afternoon teas. Sit in the ballroom and be entertained by the vintage dance organs while you eat.

Funfair Rides

The vintage rides within the museum’s collection are restored and ready to ride. Tokens can be purchased from a machine in the museum at a cost of £1.00 per ride.


Level access is available to all the museum and there is plenty of room for accessibility scooters to move about freely. Feel free to park directly outside the museum if this will help with accessibility. Click here to view our full accessibility statement
