A message from our Managing Director

After finally being able to open again, it was fantastic to be able to welcome visitors to the Scarborough Fair Collection & Vintage Transport Museum once again. However, after a short period of opening, we had to close because of positive COVID-19 tests of a few people who had been in the museum. We’re delighted to be able to re-open again on Wednesday 28th July.

Despite the easing of restrictions, we are taking a cautious approach to stepping back from them and keeping our guests and staff safe is at the forefront of our minds.

We must be careful as we gradually move back towards how things were before the pandemic.

As COVID-19 cases and close contact isolation continues to circulate in our community, we don’t want our visitors contracting the virus while in the museum. We also need to ensure our staff are kept as safe as possible so that they aren’t off work isolating and we can continue to open for our guests to enjoy the wonderful collection.

With this in mind, we are asking you to continue to wear a face covering while visiting us. It may no longer be a legal requirement, but we feel this helps us to keep you, our other guests and our staff safe. You may also find our staff still wearing masks in the museum, behind screens or both.

It has been a challenging time for everyone over the past 18 months and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests for their continued patience as we continue to adapt to each change in circumstances.

Graham Atkinson,

Managing Director, Scarborough Fair Collection & Vintage Transport Museum
